The
Ambassador of Norway to the United States, Mr. Knut Vollebæk,
will open the exhibition at the opening reception taking
place Thursday, Sep 8th, 2005 @ 6 pm.
Wenche
da Cruz is a Norwegian painter from Kongsberg - a town in
Norway famous for its rich resources of silver - hence the
title of the exhibition: From Silvertown.
But the images Wenche da Cruz presents is much more than
'landscapes' from this beautiful smalltown. Her goal is
– though art – to create a dwelling place for
people to enter into. With both seriousness and humor she
works with figurative as well as with abstract motifs –
with pencil, watercolors, acryllic and oils. She may seem
‘un-Norwegian’ in her use of symbols and admits
that she has received a lot of inspiration through her many
years living abroad in different parts of the world. We
are happy to present Wenche da Cruz at Trygve Lie Gallery
and we welcome you to attend the
opening reception taking place Thursday, Sep 8,
6 - 8 pm, where Ambassodor Knut Vollebæk will officially
open the exhibition. Download
press-release.
